I've forgotten the password to my desktop...?
I put a password on my desktop, but now I've completely forgotten it and can't get on. Is there any way to get around that without taking the computer to the Geek Squad? I appreciate the attempt, Ryan, but when I did as you suggested, the computer took me right back to the password screen. There wasn't a place for the user name, and so I couldn't just use the administrator and get in anyway. Any other suggestions?

try this.
turn on your computer, keep pressing F8, click on safe mode at the top, you will see a load of text ignore that and wait for about 1 miniute (should take less), if u have the login screen where u have to type your name and password type, Administrator in username, no password if u don't remember typing one in, if u have the login screen where u have to click your name, click on Administrator, and u should go in, i think u know how to change your password. (control panel, user accounts, reset your accounts password).
