Well if the MacBook is new you shouldn't have to buy anything, because the internet connection is built in. Therefore, you would just click on Safari. When it won't connect, click Network Diagnostics and pick a network to join. You can join one of your neighbor's connections if there is not little lock symbol by it. Your internet will slow down sometimes, however, when there is other activity on that network, so you may have to do some switching up sometimes.
If it doesn't have it built in, you will need to buy a little wireless box. It's not too big, and you could cal AT&T and they could probably sell you one or tell you where to buy one.
Hope I helped!

I think Jen was confused in that you might have meant hooking it up to the macbook.
You just need to go to a store (Wal-mart, but an electronics store is even better) to get a Wireless router. They're pretty easy to set up nowadays.
