IF the virus has gone Proceed to step 5
IF the virus hasn't gone. Follow and run the program here
http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/fi les/smitRem.php
Download smitRem.exe, saving the file to your desktop. Double click it to extract the contents to a
folder of it's own. Restart your computer in safe mode, log on to the user account that is infected,
open the smitRem folder and double click the RunThis.bat file to start the tool. Follow the prompts on
screen and allow disk cleanup to complete. Upon reboot, you can reset your desktop background. Note: XP
users using the XP theme may experience a change to the Classic Windows theme. This can be changed on the
themes tab of desktop properties.
If you are unsure email me!!
Step 5
Run and download CC leaner

I have used AVG Anti Virus, Zone Alarm Firewall, Spy-bot Search and Destroy a spyware killer for years. I have recently added superantispyware. They are all free for personal use and I have had no trouble with Viruses Trojans Hackers etc. I have just upgraded to AVG free 8.0 and all seems good so far. Zone Alarm allows a lot of personal configuration unlike the Windows Firewall. They can all be downloaded from http://www.download.com/ I also use Windows Defender from the Microsoft site. It is safe to use two anti-spy products but never use more than one A/V as it can cause conflicts. You should run A/V and anti spy weekly. Hope this helps
