Forgotten desktop password on computer...how do I get past this?
I have a computer that uses Windows Vista, and it has two accounts on it--one with internet access, one without. All well and good, but I've forgotten the password and can no longer get into either. I was told that if I press F8 as the computer is booting up, I'll eventually get to a screen where I'll be asked for both my user name and my password. If I used "Administrator" for the user name, I should be able to get in even without the password. Sounds like it should work, but the problem was that after I restarted the computer in safe mode, I was taken right back to the original screen. There wasn't a place for the user name, just the password. Help?
