I have a Samsung SM2232BW, with a VGA and DVI-D inputs.
I have my PC running to the VGA, because it's a 22-inch screen, the native resolution is 1680x1050.
I also have a DVI-D, which I have connected my PS3 (DVI-HDMI dongle), because the monitor is not Full-HD capable, I have to run the PS3 at 720p - which is good enough for a 22-inch screen.
Another thing, this monitor has HDCP - that allows HD content to be screened.
DVI only delivers video signal (no audio), so if have some desktop speakers, plug them into the back of the PC.
Conclusion:
Use DVI for PC, VGA for 360
>> I know that x360 ELITE has a HDMI port.
Check this Q, about HDMI on x360. - if it helps.

Braydon:
You can't use a DVI-VGA adapter that way.
DVI-VGA adapters only work in one direction-- From a DVI-I port on a computer video card to a VGA port on a monitor.
If you try to connect the XBox VGA cable to the monitor DVI port using that adapter, you will get no signal.
