How can i fix my internet lag? (ps3)?
Hi all, ive always played wirelessly and never had a single problem, i use a dsl router (or whatever its called) (cant get anything better in mexico) but since the other day ive been having sooo much lag while playing online, ive tried reseting both my ps3 and router but nothing works, ive been doing connection tests and i get 33 ms ping only which is great, and 1.4 average download mbps, even in the games appear my connection bars as fine. Im desperate, what can i do? Do i need more mbps? Im supposed to have 2mbps i think, is my isp ripping me off?a friend told me he had 1.1mbps average and he plays just fine! HELP PLEEASE
So my problem isnt mbps? I cant use ethernet, my parents would never let me drill holes in my house and that kind of stuff, besides i get 89% signal, i swear ive never had problems before, 2 years!!!
Oh snap i dont know nothing now, o dont even understand doff between mbytes and mbits so im **** ed lol

I hardly believe you never had lag problems with some crappy DSL playing on a home wireless network. Your internet service is bad enough and you only compound the problem using a wireless connection. Get wired if you want optimal game performance. You are ripping yourself off. EDIT: ALL internet service is measured in megaBITS per second. Secondly, 33ms is not really excellent for ping and your ping is that high because of your wireless home network. Your internet service isn't that great but if you can stabilize it, you might get decent gaming PROVIDING no one in your house is using the net at the same time. Here are your choices. Get wired, move closer to your router, have them move the router closer to you, get a repeater. try moving your ps3 to somewhere else in the room. Personally, I game and wouldn't even waste my time gaming on a wireless network. The thought is repulsive.

2 mbps? My computer says I have 300, and I don't have some sort of really expensive internet.
