 Brother MFC215C printer unable to clean error...?
My printer was working fine until I get this error: "Unable to Clean, please check the manual etc. etc." I've tried googling it and some solutions but none of them work. My printer is a Brother MFC 215C and is no longer covered by warranty. Thanks!

I googled around a bit, so try this:

1. First of all, open your printer and check that the ink head has no paper or any debris, if there is remove it.

2. Hello,

Please power off the machine, then, while holding the menu button, turn on the machine and wait until all the LED lights flash on the panel.

Does it give you an error code, like machine error 46?

Error 46 means the ink absorber is full, however we can try to fix it one time by resetting the ink counter, try this:

Power off the machine again, then, while holding the menu button, turn on the machine and wait until all the LED lights flash on the panel.

Now press 8 then 0

Press the mono start button repeatedly until you see purge: xxxx (it will show numbers)

Press 2, then 7, then 8, then 3 to reset the purge counter, it should change to purge:0000

Press 9, then 9 again to exit maintenance mode

If that doesn't fix it, you will need to have this serviced by Brother, as they will need to use special tools to get to the absorbers, however the good news is that it is not the end of your printer.

Everytime you turn the printer on, the printer goes through a purge cycle to unclog any dried ink from the printhead, this waste ink goes into your ink absorber pads, it is normal for any printer to have to have these replaced at some point once they get too full. Please call 61-2-8875-6000 to arrange this.
