Microsoft Launches SBS 2008

Today is the official launch date for Microsoft Small Business Server 2008 and the new Microsoft offering, Microsoft Essential Server Solutions.

Essential Server Solutions (or Windows Essential Business Server) is a new package that Microsoft is offering as part of the Small Business Server Premium offering.

What’s cool about EBS is that it provides a license for Windows Server Standard and Microsoft SQL Server to run on a separate machine in addition to the standard Windows SBS offerings. This is great for small and medium businesses that need SQL server functionality, but want to put it on a separate server.
